Hi Trailblazer Family!
I am so excited to join this team! This is my 6th year teaching, and my first year at Heritage Middle School! I am so excited to join such a wonderful group of students and staff! I was previously at Jordan High School in Durham teaching Math 1, Math 2, Math 2 Honors, and Essentials of College Math. Before that, I taught 7th grade Math, 7 Plus, 8th grade Math, and Math 1/ Algebra 1 at East Cary Middle and Wendell Middle Schools. This year, I was fortunate enough to be selected as a Kenan Fellow through NC State University. I had the opportunity to intern this summer at NC State's Advanced Self-Powered Systems of Integrated Sensors and Technologies (ASSIST) Center making prototypes of wearable devices. I plan on teaching this technology to students that wish to do that this school year. It involves coding, problem-solving, and working with a group to solve a One-Health issue. I really think it could be life changing for everyone involved! In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my family, friends, and my 2 cats-- Abbie and Andy. I love looking at nature, hiking, going to the beach, and traveling. My next goal is to save money to go to Denmark with my mom. I love to read, work out and run, even if I am not great at it, and play soccer. I spend way too much of my time playing on technology, but I love being able to communicate with my friends and family quickly. I am a big sponge! I love to learn in any way that I can and share my thoughts with others! Please feel free to show me new things that you have learned throughout the year, as long it is not interrupting instructional time. |
